珠三角与东翼、西翼、山区之间存在的经济差异已成为广东经济发展转型亟待解决的主要矛盾，本文选择21个城市每个从业人员增加值，应用函数型主成分分析方法对广东2000～2011年区域发展差异进行了分析。结果表明广东区域差异演变可由早期发展差异、世界金融危机冲击形成差异与2002年后形成的增长趋势差异加以阐释，与发展早期相比，广东区域差异有所缩小。
